No breathing techniques.
No new ways of sitting.
No subtle manoeuvres.
Nothing.
Meeting in silence isnât a new idea. But we arenât sitting for mindfulness, or for art, or for spiritual improvement. Weâre just sitting. Itâs going to be boring. A little boredom is good for you - and itâs increasingly hard to come by.
Weâll sit down.
A couple of minutes to arrive.
Phones off.
Weâll sit quietly for 45 minutes. If you need to leave, you can. No pressure. At the end, thereâs no debrief. No revelations. You just get up and carry on with your day.
Hope thatâs OK with you.
Learn more about the wonderful world of bumblebees on this guided 'Walk & Talk' of the NOMA Gardens with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Learn how to spot and tell apart different UK bumblebee species, discover which flowers they love, where they like to forage, and the steps we can all be taking to help protect them. This is a fun, engaging introduction to some of our local bumblebees and the wildflowers they depend on.
A yarn club guided by the moon and seasons. Bring your current project and a notebook. All yarn crafts and levels welcome!
Altogether Otherwise is a place where things always happen. Where making, doing, and shared endeavour are all part of the fun. We run workshops, create things, and keep the Hobby House buzzing with activity. No end goals, no pressure, just a space to tinker, try, and enjoy the simple joy of doing.

This week weâll be exploring the magical world of mosses with researcher, artist and lecturer Antony Hall. From creating soil to retaining water, mosses play a vital role in reclaiming space for life to thrive.
Weâll be investigating these micro-habitats out in the garden, looking at the ecosystems they support - from invertebrates like woodlice, slugs and beetles to pollinators and nesting birds - and how these spongy, hairy organisms provide food, shelter and building materials for a huge range of species.

Join arboricultural and ecological consultant, Russell Miller, for an introduction to the hidden world of dead and decaying wood.
This workshop will explore the rich diversity of habitats found within deadwood, the species most likely to be encountered in gardens, and the vital role that decaying vegetation plays in supporting wildlife.
This event is free to attend but booking is recommend.
