This is your guide to mirthful licence, merriment and Manchester Christmas events here in the NOMA neighbourhood.

From spacey Santa tipi’s to fire roasted treats, we’ve pulled together the best of what’s on in Manchester for Christmas, with some spirited stories, gift ideas and tips for good measure.

Look out for some of Manchester’s most exciting names in food and drink cooking up a winter storm – like Where The Light Gets In and Parmogeddon. And NOMA’s own every-day favourites have some great eats and drinks to keep you warm, cosy and feeling festive.

If you’re out and about around NOMA, pick up a copy of our NOMALIA Zine. It’s a great read with a cup of something hot in hand.

It’s inspired by the early Roman winter celestial festival, Saturnalia. Back then, they celebrated the bounty of harvest and the good things in life.

Saturnus, The Roman God of Renewal and Time declared that ‘during my week, the serious is barred!’. As a time of merrymaking, feasting and mirthful licence, we thought that sounded right up our street here at NOMA.

New Century have landed a space age mega-star in the middle of Sadler’s Yard this holiday season.

The big man has traded in his sleigh for a rocket-powered ride, and his cosy cabin for a space-age tipi that’s out of this world.

Altogether Otherwise

This year at NOMA we opened a hobby house called Altogether Otherwise. Every day of the working week we host free to attend clubs, workshops and activities, bringing people together through aimless pursuits of pleasure.

In honour of this season of misrule we have flipped things up a bit.

Of course, we’re still running free activities every day, but we’re also hosting our friends at Where The Light Gets In, Rare Finds Flea Market and more gift ideas to make life easier…
