1 Angel Square

One Angel Square, Manchester, M60 0AG

One Angel Square is The Co-op's Support Centre, the latest home for a business that has operated in the neighbourhood now known as NOMA since 1893. Designed by architects 3DReid for The Co-op, construction on One Angel Square began in 2010 and completed in 2013. Bringing a unique combination of technologies and design thinking together in an iconic architectural form, the building was described as 'the world's most sustainable large office building' at completion, scoring the highest BREEAM rating recorded at that time.

One Angel Square was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 15 November 2013 accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh. After a tour of the building, Her Majestry revealed a plaque naming the building, after which the Duke of Edinburgh told the 3,000 staff who were watching to ‘now go back to work’!
