Altogether Otherwise is a place where things always happen. Where making, doing, and shared endeavour are all part of the fun. We run workshops, create things, and keep the Hobby House buzzing with activity. No end goals, no pressure, just a space to tinker, try, and enjoy the simple joy of doing.
No breathing techniques.
No new ways of sitting.
No subtle manoeuvres.
Nothing.
Meeting in silence isnât a new idea. But we arenât sitting for mindfulness, or for art, or for spiritual improvement. Weâre just sitting. Itâs going to be boring. A little boredom is good for you - and itâs increasingly hard to come by.
Weâll sit down.
A couple of minutes to arrive.
Phones off.
Weâll sit quietly for 45 minutes. If you need to leave, you can. No pressure. At the end, thereâs no debrief. No revelations. You just get up and carry on with your day.

Even a small pond can be home to an interesting range of wildlife, including damsel and dragonflies, frogs and newts.
In this hands-on workshop with Cris, Urban Nature Project Officer at Lancashire Wildlife Trust, weâll be taking the plunge and learning how to make, plant and maintain a mini pond for wildlife and beauty in your garden or balcony.
This event is free to attend but booking is recommend.
