The discussion, titled “Beyond The Spreadsheet: Embedding Social Impact in Large-Scale Urban Regeneration,” brought together progressive city leaders, developers, urbanists, and thinkers to discuss the future of thriving cities.

Thank you to our moderator, Wesley Ankrah, of Savills who provided thought provoking questions as well as setting the scene, bringing his comprehensive experience in the field of Social Impact creation to the discussion.

And a further thanks to our panel guests including:

  • Tom Stannard, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council
  • Katerina Papavasileiou, Associate Director – Real Estate ESG and Responsibility, Federated Hermes
  • Lars Loebner, Senate Department for Urban Development in Berlin
  • Dan Hyde, Development Director, MEPC

And thanks to Manchester Invest Partnership for facilitating the session.

The discussion focused on the critical issue of ESG and how funders, developers and their civic partners can create places with soul and deliver lasting social impact over the long term.

The session opened with scene setting a film featuring real life examples of  social impact projects and community engagement at NOMA and featured Manchester City Council’s Leader Cllr Bev Craig sharing her  insights on Manchester’s approach to people and place, and its future growth priorities.

For those who couldn’t attend in person, the session was streamed live and is available for viewing here.
