DO NOTHING CLUB
Sit quietly for 45 minutes. No phones, no pressure, no breakthroughs. Just boredom.
No breathing techniques.
No new ways of sitting.
No subtle manoeuvres.
Nothing.
Meeting in silence isnât a new idea. But we arenât sitting for mindfulness, or for art, or for spiritual improvement. Weâre just sitting. Itâs going to be boring. A little boredom is good for you - and itâs increasingly hard to come by.
Weâll sit down.
A couple of minutes to arrive.
Phones off.
Weâll sit quietly for 45 minutes. If you need to leave, you can. No pressure. At the end, thereâs no debrief. No revelations. You just get up and carry on with your day.

An African Literature book club meeting every third Wednesday of each month.
Our June pick of the month is New Daughters of Africa, edited by Margaret Busby. It's a powerful anthology bringing together the voices of 200 women writers of African descent from across the world.
There wonât be a book club meeting in July as weâre taking a short summer break, but weâll be back in August as usual.

Join PLANT CIC for their Wildlife Gardening Club.
Head out into the gardens for a Wildflower ID Walk with writer, botanist and nature communicator, Leif Bersweden.
Leif is a passionate champion of our wild plants and fungi and we are thrilled to have him join us in the gardens again this year!
You may know Leif from his brilliant book 'Where the Wildflowers Grow', his appearance on Springwatch, or as an Ambassador for the charity Plantlife.
This event is free to attend but booking is recommend

All levels of experience are welcome.
Bring a mat & wear something comfy. Every week at Altogether Otherwise.

Please arrive by 6.20 to get settled and set up. Practice starts at 6.30 with plenty of time to chat after & maybe sit out in the garden if itâs nice. So feel free to bring a drink and snacks to share.
You can do as much or as little of the physical & other practices as you feel on the day. Even if you choose to just sit and breathe with us, you are so welcome & that is definitely still yoga.
