Mending used to be second nature - most homes had a tin of buttons, needles, and thread ready for repairs. Now, a missing button or worn-out sock often means the end of a garment.
Mending Club brings those lost skills back. Itâs a friendly, free space to slow down, learn or practice mending, and share stories stitched into our clothes. Bring along the jeans youâve worn to death, your moth-eaten jumper, or socks with holes - together weâll give them new life.
No experience needed - whether youâre a seasoned stitcher or canât thread a needle, youâre welcome. Every other Tuesday at Altogether Otherwise, we gather to darn, patch, stitch, and mend. Tools and materials are provided, and inspiration is always on hand.
Expect a casual social environment where we can share what weâre currently working on, ask for advice and chat. Weâre all about sharing knowledge and skills, so if youâre not sure how to go about a particular mend, feel free to ask! If you donât have access to all the supplies you might need, a range of needles and materials will be supplied. Midweek City 5k with Eat The Frog
Looking for a midweek boost? Lace up and join Eat The Frog for a relaxed 5k run weaving through the city streets. Whether youâre a seasoned runner or just getting started, this is a friendly, social run at a pace that works for everyone.
After we cross the finish line, the evening doesnât end there - weâll head to the beautiful Altogether Otherwise garden to share a well-earned drink, unwind, and connect with fellow runners.

A yarn club guided by the cycles of the moon and seasons. Bring your knitting, crochet or sewing and a notebook to explore the gentle magic of crafting coupled with intention-setting. All levels welcome! Every other week at Altogether Otherwise.
Wavy Wool Club is back on 24th September at Altogether Otherwise.
Wavy Wool Club is an open, free-to-join space that connects farmers and creatives through wool. We gather every other Wednesday at Altogether Otherwise to spin, felt, card, and work with fleece that would otherwise go to waste. Itâs a place to relax, learn new skills, and share stories about farming, craft, and the environment.
For this special series, weâll follow the journey of wool from fleece to fabric. A sheep farmer will bring a raw fleece directly from their flock, and together weâll work through each stage of its transformation. Over several sessions, weâll learn to skirt, wash, card, and spin the fibres, with the chance to experiment along the way. By the end, weâll have created our own small pieces of handmade woollen fabric, part craft, part conversation - a celebration of this undervalued, magical material.

An African Literature book club meeting every third Wednesday of each month.
Our June pick of the month is New Daughters of Africa, edited by Margaret Busby. It's a powerful anthology bringing together the voices of 200 women writers of African descent from across the world.
There wonât be a book club meeting in July as weâre taking a short summer break, but weâll be back in August as usual.
In this weekly yoga club we'll be exploring all elements of Yoga from the physical practice & breath to meditation, philosophy & beyond.

Together, weâll explore how to find stories in the everyday, shape them in your own way, and share them so they connect. Come curious, leave seeing with fresh eyes.
