Redfern
Redfern, 30 Hanover St, Manchester, M4 4AHRedfern sits on the corner of the busy Dantzic street overlooking Sadler's Yard. A much-loved example of a curvy, clean-lined art deco building, it features regularly on local architecture walking tours. A multi-use building, it is home to Kiwi originating Coffee Roasters, Allpress Espresso, whilst its resident office staff from the Ministry of Justice enjoy a great view across the city from an elevated outdoor terrace.
Another of NOMA’s Grade II listed buildings, Redfern was designed as a store ‘for eggs, fish, poultry and tinned stuff’. More than that though, it also included an impressive array of staff wellbeing spaces – a hundred foot long women’s common room, surgeries and recovery rooms for men and women, a staff dining room, a smoke room and a large kitchen.
