NOMA turns up the volume with return of Very Good Plus Record Fair

NOMA taps into its musical roots this June as the Very Good Plus Record Fair makes a return to the neighbourhood on Saturday 13 June. Expect crates worth digging, cult pressings, and serious selector energy, all set against a neighbourhood that’s long played its part in Manchester’s sound.

Music lovers, vinyl collectors, and of course their families are invited to head to New Century and Sadler’s Yard for an all-day celebration of independent music culture in the Yard.

Running from 10am to 5pm, the record fair will bring together some of the best old school vinyl traders alongside your favourite independent record labels, with record sellers taking over the iconic New Century Kitchens for a day of digging, discovering, and crate browsing.

Alongside the record fair, visitors can get show off their moves at the all-day DJ takeovers, browse the merch market celebrating incredible bands and artists, plus plunge head-first into a packed programme of family-friendly activities and workshops. You can even get hands-on with the giant drum machine, or if you’re looking for a day of chill, simply soak up the atmosphere by the big screen.

And for when the music takes over your appetite, food and drink will be served all day at New Century Kitchen.

Very Good Plus is hosted in collaboration between NOMA and New Century, curated by Living Room Dance Club, and organised by Altogether Otherwise.

Abby Mudge, Managing Director of New Century, said: “Music is in our soul at NOMA. New Century has an incredible history – from Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, to the Bee Gees, as well as new names like Tomora, Jamie xx, and Nubiyan Twist making their mark at our iconic venue. All while the bands of tomorrow are learning their trade here too at the amazing dBs Institute.

“The Very Good Plus Record Fair has become an incredible celebration of independent music, creativity, and community spirit, all things we treasure over here at NOMA. We’re so excited to welcome visitors back to the Yard and New Century for another day packed with amazing traders, DJs, family activities, and always great food and drink in the heart of the neighbourhood.”
