Join us for an inspiring evening with Dympna Gould, a Heritage Consultant and Manchester Tour Guide, as she shares the story of the National Trust site the Castlefield Viaduct, one of Manchester’s most remarkable urban transformations. Dympna, who helped reopen the Viaduct in 2023, will discuss its journey from an iconic Victorian structure to a thriving “sky park.”

She’ll explore the Viaduct’s Victorian engineering origins, its transformation into a public green space, and the collaborative efforts that made it possible, including the volunteers and community partners involved. Dympna will also highlight the unique challenges of gardening at such heights, and how the design blends heritage with innovation.

Finally, learn about the future of the Viaduct and the National Trust’s new urban focus in connecting cities with green spaces. Come along to learn how you can get involved with the Castlefield Viaduct and discover how a piece of Manchester’s industrial past has blossomed into a symbol of urban renewal and community.
