With a focus on craftsmanship and conscious design\, each piece is created in her Manchester-based studio using deadstock or locally sourced yarns. Her practise is a celebration of colour\, process\, and thoughtful making. \n \nIn the workshop we will cover: threading up the machine\, casting on\, knitting a row\, adding in different colours\, increasing + decreasing and casting off. DESCRIPTION:Mark-making walks on the moors\, every Sunday afternoon in May led by artist and PhD researcher Neil Greenhalgh.\n\n\nHolcombe Moor is a wilderness punctuated with artefacts\, stories\, and lore. MAY BE ON THE MOORS is a new collaborative project that delves into the particularities of this landscape through walking\, mark-making\, and co-creating with more-than-human energies. \nBuilding upon what THE FINAL FRIDAYS begun\, this project continues to define the emerging practice of Geohauntography: An hauntology of place. \nWe will meet whatever the weather. Prepare for quite a long walk in challenging terrain with no amenities. All art materials will be provided. No previous experience or artistic ability is required. \nThe walk might not end exactly at 5pm. Bring along the jeans you’ve worn to death\, your moth-eaten jumper\, or socks with holes – together we’ll give them new life. \nNo experience needed – whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or can’t thread a needle\, you’re welcome. Every other Tuesday at Altogether Otherwise\, we gather to darn\, patch\, stitch\, and mend. Tools and materials are provided\, and inspiration is always on hand. \nExpect a casual social environment where we can share what we’re currently working on\, ask for advice and chat. MAY BE ON THE MOORS is a new collaborative project that delves into the particularities of this landscape through walking\, mark-making\, and co-creating with more-than-human energies. \nBuilding upon what THE FINAL FRIDAYS begun\, this project continues to define the emerging practice of Geohauntography: An hauntology of place. \nWe will meet whatever the weather. Prepare for quite a long walk in challenging terrain with no amenities. All art materials will be provided. No previous experience or artistic ability is required. \nThe walk might not end exactly at 5pm. Practice starts at 6.30 with plenty of time to chat after & maybe sit out in the garden if it’s nice. So feel free to bring a drink and snacks to share. \n \nYou can do as much or as little of the physical & other practices as you feel on the day. Even if you choose to just sit and breathe with us\, you are so welcome & that is definitely still yoga. \n \nAltogether Otherwise is a place where things always happen. Where making\, doing\, and shared endeavour are all part of the fun. We run workshops\, create things\, and keep the Hobby House buzzing with activity. DESCRIPTION:Mark-making walks on the moors\, every Sunday afternoon in May led by artist and PhD researcher Neil Greenhalgh.\n\n\nHolcombe Moor is a wilderness punctuated with artefacts\, stories\, and lore. MAY BE ON THE MOORS is a new collaborative project that delves into the particularities of this landscape through walking\, mark-making\, and co-creating with more-than-human energies. \nBuilding upon what THE FINAL FRIDAYS begun\, this project continues to define the emerging practice of Geohauntography: An hauntology of place. \nWe will meet whatever the weather. Prepare for quite a long walk in challenging terrain with no amenities. All art materials will be provided. No previous experience or artistic ability is required. \nThe walk might not end exactly at 5pm. Could be earlier or slightly later. \nWe will end at the local pub The Shoulder of Mutton\, for a post walk debrief. \n \nImportant Information: \n\nMeet at Lumb Carr Road Car Park\, BL8 4NN\, 2pm.\nWhat three words for meeting location: ///direction.majors.vitamins\nBy signing up you are accepting personal liability for you own health and saftey.\nPlease be aware these are fairly challeneging walks on uneven\, hilly terrain.
