This month the guys at GRUB have put together a collaboration with Manchester Histories Festival & local community group Friends of Angel Meadow.

The GRUB Blast from the Past will take place on Saturday 4th June, 12pm - 8pm.

Visitors can join walks that explore the rich history of the local area and attend talks from history experts, many of which will have free tickets available on the day. These will include Simon Ward discussing everything from basket weaving to badminton in “Ragged Schools of Angel Meadow” and Richard O Smith’s comedy show based on his book “The Man With His Head in the Clouds”, all about balloonist – and Sadler’s Yard namesake – James Sadler. The latter of these will take place at 12pm and 3pm, with advanced tickets now available on Eventbrite.

There will be the usual selection of excellent traders, all with a hint of history, covering arts & craft, vintage stalls, take-home food and a free historical wine tasting with Reserve Wines.

The Pilcrow Pub will also be present on the day as they continue to hold weekly workshops to create a new community pub in Manchester. This month you can help in the building of bar stools, led by Joe Hartley, Head Maker at The Pilcrow Pub.

Live music and vintage DJs will be there to entertain the crowd throughout the day, whilst the bar serves beer from local breweries Marble Beers, The Runaway Brewery and Blackjack Brewery; a new can bar will also be present to ensure fast service and a wider array of drink choice.
